What is a DOT physical?
A DOT physical is a required medical exam for commercial drivers to ensure they are healthy and safe to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). It is required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to maintain a valid CDL. Our provider is registered with FMSCA to perform these examinations

Why do I need a DOT physical?
You must pass a DOT physical to receive a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC), also known as a DOT medical card. Without it, you may lose your ability to drive commercially.

How much does the exam cost?
The DOT physical is $159 and is not covered by insurance.

How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments must be booked online.

How long does the exam take?
Most DOT physicals take 30 to 45 minutes.

What should I bring?
Please bring:

A valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license)

Your current medical certificate (if applicable)

Bottles or List of current medications, including dosage and prescribing doctor’s name

Information about any health conditions and recent medical procedures or surgeries

Vision or hearing aids, if applicable

Glasses or contact lenses, if applicable

What should I expect during the exam?
You will complete a vision test, blood pressure check, urine test, and a full medical evaluation. Additional testing such as A1C may be required if indicated.

Will I automatically pass?
No. This is a medical certification exam based on FMCSA guidelines. All health conditions must be reviewed, and additional documentation may be required.

How do cancellations work?
You may cancel at any time by phone or through your confirmation message. No fee applies if you cancel in advance. A no-show fee may apply for missed or late appointments.

What may I need?​
We complete the 5875 form and have copies. If your primary care provider needs to completed 5870, you must bring it in.
